The Story
Ice-clad Grossglockner, the highest summit of the eastern Alps and of Austria, commands a breathtaking view over Central Europe’s largest and Austria’s oldest nature reserve.
The Hohe Tauern National Park includes untamed, arctic high mountain wilderness with spectacular peaks, glaciers and Europe’s highest waterfalls as well as vast forests and green pastures that have been cultivated by mountain farmers for many centuries in harmony with the laws of nature.
